San Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila Parish at Pleasant Hill Subdivision, City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, Bulacan 3023 PH - Madrigal Foundation Bulacan Branch Opens (San Lorenzo Ruiz Charity Inc.)

The Consuelo "Chito" Madrigal Foundation, Inc. opened its branch in Bulacan headed by philantrophist Doña Chito Madrigal-Collantes. San Lorenzo Ruiz Charity, Inc. (SLRC), the social welfare arm of San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish, envisions building a living,loving,praying and serving Christian community as well as productive and actively participating parishioners. The program is basically responsible in creating opportunities for the development and enhancement of spiritual and moral values as well as maximizing potent resources in responding to the material needs of human beings, especially those less fortunates ones. It provides welfare services to poor families and individuals with focus to those in need of educational assistance (scholarship), medical services, disaster victims and other individuals in crisis situations, thereby enhancing their capabilities to attain normal ways of living a true Christian life.

At present, SLRC is microfinancing livelihood projects that benefit the poor. It has 52 scholars with Day Care for poor kids and Value Formation. Mr. Michael Escaler, BPI Foundation c/o Mrs. Roni Tapia Merck and Arch. & Mrs. Nestor Mangio are the counterpart sponsors of San Lorenzo Ruiz Charity Inc. Fr. Mario Jose C. Ladra is the Program Director with Erlinda Maulit as Asst. Program Director, Cathy Adapon as Secretary, Niania Ladao as Treasurer, Cecil Monzon as Asst. Treasurer, Carol Villasan, Ester Canoza and Sol Mendigoria as Service Evaluators.
