Since the launching of the book, “Straight from the Heart: A Prayer Companion”, compiled and edited by our parish priest, Fr. Mario Jose C. Ladra last September, 2007, thousands of copies had been sold and it continues to be one of the favorites of those readers and believers alike seeking spiritual inspiration and those who are learning to make their moments with God in prayers more profoundly personal. In fact, a portion of the proceeds from book sales was already awarded to Immaculate Conception Major Seminary in Guiguinto, Bulacan and the Immaculate Conception School of Theology in Vigan, Ilocos Sur whose seminarians and theologians had expressed their unending gratitude to Fr. Mar Ladra.
In addition, a successful Musical Variety Show dubbed, “Straight from the Heart,” was staged at San Lorenzo Ruiz Church Patio last February 16, 2008. It featured the actress-singer Marisa Sanchez and the newly-formed band, M-Gage, with the special participation of the Parish Music Ministry, to raise funds for the proposed Parish Center and to celebrate the success of the said literary addition that has rendered the readers many spiritual benefits.
