St. Francis Xavier Parish - Sikeston at 245 West Front St., Sikeston, MO 63801 US - Home

Listen and answer my prayer, O Lord!

Welcome to St. Francis Xavier Parish!  Founded in 1892, we are located in downtown Sikeston and are a part of the Springfield-Cape Girardeau Diocese.  Our parish is approximately 580 families strong.  We have our own grade school (pre-K to 8th) located next to the parish.  We have many service organizations and religious formation programs in the Catholic Faith.  We are proud of our history and welcome you to join us whenever you are in the area.

A Message from Msgr. Rowling

Dear Friends,

It is with a heavy heart that I leave St. Francis Xavier and St. Henry Parishes, a home that I have loved so much for so many years. But I feel I would be better closer to my health facilities in Cape Girardeau. I will remain in Sikeston until Fr. Glenn returns from his pilgrimage to the Holy Land on November 18.

My home in Cape Girardeau will be at 378 Etherton, near the intersection of Bloomfield and Silver Springs Road. Our little street is now commonly referred to as "Clergy Row". Because living on this same street is Msgr. Bill Stanton, Fr. Normand Varone, Brother David and Sister Lucille.

For all that you have done, for all that you have been, my deepest gratitude and thanks.

You will always have a special part in my heart and you will be welcome to stop by in Cape and visit anytime.

Prayer for Our Troops

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. And give us peace. We ask this in the name of Jesus, Our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Questions Relating to the Gospel

Both widows in today's readings gave all they had to the work of the Lord, one using all her remaining food to feed Elijah and the other offering her two copper coins to the temple treasury.

By giving from her "want", the widow shows her trust in God. When have you let go and put your trust in God? In what practical ways have you helped the helpless?
