Dear Parents,

As we are coming to the end of the month soon I wanted to ask you to please leave the calendar in your child’s folder. I will take the September calendars out next Monday and put in the October calendar.  Also, remember to be sure and check and initial your child’s calendar daily. Thank you!

 

We are working on Handwriting daily. Proper grip is important not only when holding a pencil but with other writing elements as well such as crayons, markers, etc.  Bad habits are hard to break and I need your help with this at home. Please be sure to be aware of your child’s grip whenever they are writing or coloring at home. A couple of weeks ago I sent home some information on proper grip with ways to practice proper grip at home.

 

In handwriting we have learned the following letters: F, E, D, and P. This week we will work on B, R, and N. I am sending home a sheet with all the letters and numbers to 10 on it showing their proper formations. 

 

This week our shared reading is the Green song and chart along with the Scholastic High Frequency Reader “I Like”. Please add the words “green” and “to” to the list of words that your child is expected to know. Every week we add at least 2 new words to our sight words. It is really important that your child be able to read all of our words so far or else they will quickly be behind in their learning.

 

We will be finishing up our studies of the 5 senses this week, but will continue to use them and make references to them as we explore our world and the things in our world.

 

This week’s show-n-tell is a green item, next week will be orange.  Wednesday will be green day!
