Jr. Kindergarten February Newsletter
Dear Parents,
I can't believe how fast the year is going by. The month of February is short and packed
with many special events. The first of these events is Catholic Schools Week . A list of events planned
for the Catholic Schools Week came home eariler last month. Catholic Schools Week will end on
Sunday February 5th with 10:30 mass and School Open House after the mass.
The next event is our Valentine's Day Party. The party will be on Tuesday February 14th
starting around 2:00 pm. Children may bring in a treat and Valentine's Day cards. There are eight
in the class and enclosed with this newsletter is a classlist of names.
Also, this month we will be celebrating 100 days of school on Tuesday February 7th.
For day 100 I am asking each parent to please donate 100 individual pieces of some of the following
examples like M&M's,pretzels,raisins,marshmallows,skittles,cereal pieces,etc. for our 100 day mix.
Just put them in ziploc bag and send to school.
Finally , the last events parent/teacher conferences are on Thursday February 16th and
Friday February 17th there will be no school on these two days and no school on Friday February 24th
for staff retreat.
The themes for February shadows, Valentine's Day, opposites, and dental health.
Follow oral directions.
Opposites and words that mean the same thing. Identify penny, nickel, dime, quarter. Recognize
how people are alike and different. Recognize weather conditions and appropriate dress. Once again
thank you for all your help and support during the school year.
