We have been so blessed with these beautiful days of November. The sun has kept shining and the colors of the leaves are so beautiful and remind us of the wonders of our loving God.
Veterans Day gives us the chance to honor and pray for our men and women who are serving our country. These brave soldiers are serving tirelessly both at home and abroad. We here at the school continue to pray for peace in the world and for the safety of all those who have pledged to keep America safe and free for all of us.
The horrid incident recently at Ft. Hood brings to the forefront the fact that there is no safe haven even in our own country for those who serve. People are under so much stress and filled with so much fear that we must pray and ask God to protect and guide them.
People need God to keep them in touch with what is real and what is important. Thanks and appreciation go out to all those who served in the Armed Forces in the World Wars, in Korea, Vietnam,
the Gulf wars, Afghanistan, Iraq, and so many other places around the globe.
May God bless them all and give them eternal rewards for their valor and courage.
Thanksgiving for those of us here in the United States is one of our favorite American holidays. It's time for good food and good company. For generations families and friends gather on the fourth Thursday in November to share a banquet and give thanks. I love the food and the traditions celebrated in my family, and I am lucky enough to have all of my four children in town for the celebration along with my own parents. We have so much to be thankful for.
So to all of you, my St. Joseph School and Parish family, Happy Thanksgiving and May God bless you all!
