SJS Parent Club Minutes October 1, 2009 SUNSHINE COMMITTEE: Michelle Barb and Jill George · Please register for Apples for Students at Giant Eagle; Register your card at Giant Eagle for free and put in our school code (#3495); We earn things for our school; We currently have 203 supporters and would like more. PRINCIPAL REPORT: Mrs. Manges filling in for Mrs. Casper-Linn · “Memory Trees” were planted between the school and the playground for $200; Parent Club agreed to pay $50 to dedicate a tree to Walter · Campus Impact did a parent presentation on Bullying on November 4, 2009. There is currently a policy in place; parents, teachers or students can fill out a form if they witness or are part of a bullying situation. It is important to distinguish between bullying and conflict; please see these websites for more information:www.campusimpactohio.org. Olweus (google it). Teachers are going through inservices on this topic WALK A THON: Sandi Domain · Will be in the spring; Ashley Frantz is the committee chair · The money raised in the walk a thon will go to Phase I of the gym renovations which will include soundproofing and new mats · There will also be a plaque hung in the gym in Walter’s memory KRIS KRINGLE: Jill George · December 14th and 15th · Please save bags with handles, gift bags and wrapping paper to help the kids get everything home · Profit for Kris Kirngle: A suggestion was made to give it to a family/families in need within the school BUCKEYE BASH: Linda Gross for Deanna Jenkins · November 21 · This year it is a family event; $10 for 16 and older; $5 for under 16 · Please donate OSU items for raffles FISH FRY: · There will be 2 fish fries: February 19, 2010 AND February 26, 2010 · profits from the two will be divided equally between the 7th and 8th grade trip and the Parent Club PRESIDENT: Sandi Domain · There will be no Parent Club meeting in the month of December OPEN FORUM · Cathleen Phillips: Used uniform sale is doing well; please contact Cathleen if you can help out during the first Tuesday of the month from 2:30-3:30 in the loft · Diane Syrowski: The basketball schedule is changing; she will send out more information DOOR PRIZES: · Napkins and napkin holder: Linda Gross · Dress Down: Tracy Butchko (2nd)
