1st and 2nd graders make Christopher Columbus boats!

Regina L. Deitz, a beloved volunteer at St. Joseph School who passed away this summer, is being honored by her family and colleagues with memorial donations to the school. After a 32-year career as a first grade teacher, Regina spent time each week reading to Kindergartners at St. Joe's and passing on her love of reading, especially "Clifford" books. Regina's colleagues from Lorain City Schools presented two hardwood rocking chairs to the school library along with six new library books. The teachers, who plan to donate a new book each year in Regina's memory, are Cathy & Craig Bennett, Patti Connors, Beth Diedrick, Laura Federinko, Kathy Harsar, Patricia Kidder, Ginny Kordelski, Erin Michalski, Lisa Molnar, Linda Lang, Irene & Gary Martin, Chris Owen, Melva & Scott Sherwood, Debbie & Walt Pustulka, Danna Rees, Loretta Rositano, Mary Ellen Truxell, and Jean Yoman. The family, represented by Regina's mother, Marjorie Deitz, is also spearheading a memorial fund to support reading at SJS. Donations may be sent to St. Joseph School.

THE 8TH GRADE SERVICE PROJECT
will be a visit to Pass-it-on, a ministry in downtown Lorain which distibutes recycled furniture, appliances, and clothing plus food. Students will help sort the donated goods as part of their commitment to justice and charity.

Open Computer Lab every Monday from 2:30-3:30. Practice your keyboarding skills! Catch up on assignments! Get extra tutoring from Mrs. Peabody. Students must have a note from parents each Monday.
