Have a fantastic Thanksgiving holiday!
The Westing Game
Each week the students receive a reading assignment. Along with the reading, they are to complete a series of tasks related to the book. They are to complete their jobs in their blue binder (The Westing Game Journal).
1) Character and Clues: Each student is responsible for one character in the book. They are to write down any information about their character including descriptions and things that they do (clues) as they do the weekly reading assignment. The information that they write down is placed on a poster in the classroom each Friday.
2) Story Trail: After reading a chapter, the students are to write 2-3 sentences to summarize what happened in that chapter. This information is also placed on a poster in the classroom.
3) Chapter Questions: Each chapter has one question that the students need to write a response to in their binder. These responses are shared during their Literature Circles on Fridays.
4) Paper Towel Clues: Students are to write down any additional clues that they feel are important to solving the mystery.
