Policies
While no new plantings of shrub and trees are allowed, those already in place by 2004
will be allowed, to remain. It will be the duty of the family to keep these planting in a presentable condition. Should they become detrimental to adjacent lots or avenues, or should they become unsightly, the parish has the right to remove them.
Vaults are required for all caskets
The purchase of a grave site, gives the owner the right to burial in that spot. It does not convey a deed to any land.
Tomb stones must be kept within the confines of the purchased grave space or lot, and remain the property of the family, which is also responsible for their care.
While multiple burials of cremations on one grave site are allowed, there can be only one tomb stone per grave site. All tombstones must be kept in line with the other stones in the row.
As of July 1, 2005, the price for a grave space will be $200.00.
The price per space may change any time at the discretion of the parish.
In general, people with a reasonable connection to the parish (such as past membership,
or a close relationship to a parishioner) may purchase grave spaces. When purchasing grave spaces, families are encouraged to give thought to how many they may need. Purchasing an excessive number of spaces, anticipating family needs far into the future, can result in a lot of unused space that family members, who have moved away, may not even realize is there. We encourage family members to designate a person or persons who will be authorized to say who can be buried in spaces reserve for a family. Such a person has the right to determine who can be buried in said spaces.
The parish would hope that if a family realizes that they have spaces that they will never use, that they will donate them back to the parish. If they wish to sell them to other people, the parish may help them make contacts. The parish will not repurchase any grave spaces.
The parish reserves the right to make exceptions, suspensions, or modifications of these rules and policies.
