RCIA, a program for those interested in knowing more about and possibly joining the Church, will be at Milford starting Sept. 14. They will meet on Tuesdays from 6:30-8.
I will help anyone interested in learning more about the church in whatever way I can. Just contact me.
I would like to start a special group for those who have been coming to Mass (most likely with their spouse), “Quite Often,” for many years, are comfortable with the Church and would like to join, but don’t get around to it, or don’t have the time for RCIA. This would be a shorter program, strictly for those meeting the above conditions.
Please contact me if interested.
Congratulations to Mandy Matuska and Brett Swart

The Diocesan Annual Appeal officially starts next week. However you will be receiving material through the mail this week. Please read the letter from the Bishop on the back of this bulletin.
Dear friends in Christ,
As we begin the annual financial appeal in our diocese known as the Diocesan Annual Appeal (DAA), I want to thank each of you who have supported us in the past. Your generosity has enabled us to accomplish many things for many in northwest Iowa. Thousands of individuals and families are helped in a variety of ways because of your charity and love.
Once again, I want to give special thanks to the priests of our diocese who supported the annual appeal last year by their personal contributions of over $50,000. Their generosity of ministry and dedication to the works of the Church and diocese is evident in what they give in service and financial support. I am truly grateful for their generosity.
Saint Paul wrote to the people of Corinth: “Everyone must give according to what they have inwardly decided; not sadly, not grudgingly for God loves a cheerful giver. God can multiply his favors among you so that you may always have enough of everything and even a surplus for good work.” Please let this be your thoughts as you reflect on how you might help us.
God can multiply His favors among us so that others may benefit and we too will have enough. This is the reason all of us need to do what we can. Once again this year, I ask that you joyfully support the Diocesan Annual Appeal.
You should have received a 2010 Diocesan Annual Appeal mailing last week. I ask that you carefully consider your contribution; pray about it and let the Lord guide your decision. You may place your DAA envelope with the enclosed pledge and/or check in your parish collection offering. I strongly encourage all faithful of our diocese to take part in this annual act of stewardship.
My hope is that those who can contribute will do so, and all of us support the Appeal through our prayers.
I once again, thank you for your generosity in the past, for the way that you have allowed the Lord to carry out His work through you and your selfless giving to the Appeal.
May God bless your homes with His abiding peace and may He continue to share with you His abundance of love.
Your brother in Christ,
Most Reverend R. Walker Nickless
