World Youth Day allows the pilgrim to engage all his or her senses in a positive way to grow his or her faith. It is an opportunity for the pilgrim to witness the true universality of the Church and to worship with the Holy Father in person. World Youth Day is an occasion to show the world and the Church that young people participate in their faith and are looking for ways to be actively engaged in it. This experience is a tremendous opportunity for grace. 
World Youth Day will be held July 19-29, 2013 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The event planners in Rio de Janeiro are expecting more than 2 million Catholics at the WYD Mass with Pope Benedict XVI.

Local Event
The Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau will be hosting a local event at Trinity Hills, the diocesan property for prayer, service and Christian formation near Rogersville, MO (20 minutes east of Springfield).
