Welcome to Our Website!
SS. Peter and Paul is the only Catholic Church in the city of Ionia, the county seat of Ionia County. Though both predate their current buildings, the church was built in 1881 and expanded in 1916, and the school was constructed in 1904. We are a long-standing presence in the community! The passing years have seen many changes and we are happy to be a continuing, vital presence in our region. Along with our essential duty to evangelize by proclaiming the Scriptures and celebrating the Sacraments, we also host literacy tutoring and English as a Second Language classes. We support the local soup kitchen and food pantry located at Zion United Methodist Church with money and volunteers. We are active in the ecumenical activities sponsored by the local Ministerial Association, including Vacation Bible School each summer and an Advent Church Walk each December. Finally, you will find our parishioners actively involved in nearly everything that goes on here, from local government to the community theatre!
