Nine of our High School youth recently attended a Leadership Day Camp.
Throughout the day many explored new depths of their faith as well as practiced puting some of tools shown to them into action. At the A.C.T.S. gathering the following night many of our Red Crew lead the group in prayer, icebreaker activities and games.
Plans are in the works fo rour October--Spirit in the Woods gathering at the Knoop home---Meeting after the 11am Mass on Sunday, October 18th---

Candy in a Jar – guess the amount, closest guess wins jar
Costume Contest
- Need: Judging system, prizes
Pumpkin relay
- Need: pumpkins
- Teams of 6-12 -- the smaller size will work best, Keep to 6-8 people/team if possible
- Teams line up and pass a pumpkin over the head of first person and through the legs of the next person. Pattern continues through the end of the line. That end person races to the front of the line carrying the pumpkin and starts the over/under passing again. This continues until everyone in line has had a turn at the front and the person who was the first in line become the last in line. When s/he gets the pumpkin s/he runs to the front and places the pumpkin at her/his feet. This team is the winning team.
Dr. Gross’ Mad Scientist Lab
- Need: Mad scientist’s lab coat, peeled grapes (eyeballs), cold, cooked spaghetti (guts), orange peels (skin), unpopped popcorn (teeth), peeled tomato (heart)
- Extra items to set up the "lab" in the barn
Scarecrow Races
- Need: Black garbage bags filled with same items for each scarecrow to wear: gloves, jeans, flannel shirt, boots, hats, straw(?) - - larger size clothing items will be funnier
- Small teams, 2-5 people
- The Scarecrow person stands 20-30 feet from team. Team has clothing bag. One at a time, players dig through pile, find item of clothing, and dress the Scarecrow. First Scarecrow correctly dressed wins.
Mummy Wrap
- Need: Rolls of toilet paper
- Small teams, 2-5 people
- Players wrap their "Mummy" up in toilet paper. Winner is the first team to empty their roll.
- Variations: Mummy must perform a task (i.e. move a pumpkin, make a basket); can give prize to best looking Mummy
Haunted Walk
- Need: Tour guides, spooky story to be told on the walk, flashlights, single light at end of walk, items to haunt the woods - ??
