*First and Second grades have a complete new reading and language arts program. *Five new teachers have hit the ground running, and they're bringing excitement and new ideas to our school. *Teacher professional development programs are scheduled throughout the year for all teachers. In January, we'll be doing a book study on the work edited by Costa & Kallich, "Habits of the Mind". *Students will be participating in a schoolwide "Muse Machine" cross curricular program. *Curricular based field trips and service projects are planned for all grade levels. *Walk the Walk, a cross grade level faith based program, will meet four times throughout the year to discuss various topics. *In school adult tutoring and after school peer tutoring programs will continue throughout the year. *Staff members are participating in the Dayton Deanery St. Remy project to develop a deeper understanding of the values of a Catholic education. *Our school maintenance program includes replacement of a couple of classroom air conditioners and a new boiler heating system. *Our athletic commission has begun a schoolwide youth soccer program, with home games played on their improved home field.
