Q: How does CFS work?
A: CFS is used to send and receive donations and payments over the Internet. Once you have signed up for CFS, you are able to send money using a Visa, Master Card, and American Express credit card. Recipients are notified via e-mail that they have received a donation or payment from you.
Q: What information is required to open an Individual CFS account?
A: To open an Individual CFS account, you must provide your name, address, phone number, e-mail address and which Parish/Diocese you’re a member. In order to make payments using CFS, you must use a credit card, debit card, or bank checking account information. You must also provide two different security answers to security questions you have chosen (such as your city of birth or your pet’s name). The security information is necessary for us to process transactions, issue a new password if you forget or lose your password, protect you against credit card fraud and/or checking account fraud, and to contact you should the need arise in administering your account.
Q: How do I use CFS to send a payment?
A: All you have to do is sign up for a CFS account and add a funding source for your payments. Select the Send Money tab; fill in payee information and then the transaction information. An e-mail is sent to the payee notifying them they have money available for withdrawal. $5.00 min.

Q: Is it safe to process credit cards over the Internet?
A: Yes, it is safe. CFS uses the state-of-the-art Secure Socket Layer (SSL) system that requires that credit card data be transmitted from your (or your ISP’s) secure server in encrypted form. This ensures that no one can intercept the transaction and obtain sensitive information. When you send a payment using CFS, the recipient does not receive any sensitive financial information such as your credit card or bank account number. In addition, CFS has recently implemented an SAS 70 audit. This is an audit recognized by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). It’s an audit on a service provider to demonstrate that they have adequate controls and safeguards when they host or process data belonging to their customers.
