As we enter into November, the Sunday readings remind us of our mortality. However, the Feast of All Saints, All Souls Day and every funeral celebration remind us that with death comes the promise of Eternal Life.
To help our parish family better celebrate funerals, we are trying to form a Resurrection Choir. This group would practice a limited repertoire which they would sing at parish funerals. Rehearsals would be arranged at the convenience of the members. Even if you cannot commit to singing and rehearsing weekly--you may find the time to share musical talents in this way.
Not all of our parish family are fortunate enough to have many friends or family who can attend the funeral of a loved one and support them at this time. I am always grateful to our parishioners who attend funerals and share the ministry of their presence with those who grieve.
If you might be willing to share your time and musical gifts--even if you are not presently a member of any of our present music groups--please contact me by calling the parish office. Leave your name and phone and indicate your willingness to join the Resurrection Choir. You will be contacted to set up rehearsal times.
