St. Anthony Catholic Church at 20428 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville, FL 34601 US - Pastoral Council Minutes for November 30, 2005

Pastoral Council Minutes for
November 30, 2005

Members Present: Fr. Donlan, Ed Bowers, Ed Gear, Tom Pitts, Mary Ann Scaglione, Ell Thomas, Carmen Treulich

Members Excused: Sara Simpson

Absent Member: Paul Jacoby

The meeting opened with a prayer by Tom Pitts. This was followed with a reflection by Mary Ann Scaglione.

The Minutes of the October 12, 2005 meeting were approved. There was no Youth Report since the youth representative was absent.

There was a brief discussion on the parish greeters. Mary Ann Scaglione will check to find out if the greeters are organized. It was suggested that the parish put together a flyer with information on the church and leave it with the sales offices in the new developments that are going up in the parish. Such a flyer could be posted on the community bulletin boards.

There was a lengthy discussion on the article from "Today's Parish" magazine about parish planning. Copies of this article will be sent to all Pastoral Council members. One ideas is to have a representative from each parish ministgry be invited to future Council meetings to share what their ministry is about. This has been done in past years and it may be time to do this again to update the new Council members.

Fr. Donlan described the "Jesus Video" project that is sponsored by the Brooksville Ministerial Association. St. Anthony has contributed $740.00 to pay for 200 of the DVD videos. The entire 34601 zip code area will have a saturated mailing in December. The church will have its name on the video. Entire cost will be about $28,000.00 and about $24,000.00 has been collected so far by the Ministerial Association. Two person follow-up teams will visit the homes in the 34601 zip code from January to April to be sure that the people did indeed receive the Jesus video.
