APRIL 2, 2009

Members Present:     Father Morley, Bill Baker, Mary Elmer, Sherrie Moore, Patty Sharp

                                    Teresa Timmons

Father opened the meeting with prayer at 7:00 p.m.

Minutes from the February 5, 2009 meeting were approved.

Youth Report:

·        The kayaking trip is turning into a Parish Event with many adults joining in.  Plans are in the making for a BBQ on the river after the trip.

·        During the summer, both groups of our youth will be meeting together on Sunday.  In the fall, the high school youth will be meeting on Wednesday evenings in the Holy Hut.

Old Business:

·        Bill’s offer to re-format donated computers for the Youth will be looked at again in the fall.

·        Father noted that the St. Anthony the Abbot statue should be delivered from Spain in a couple of months.  The replacement statue of Mary has arrived and she will be positioned in her place of honor in May.  The old statue of Mary will be relocated to Fathers’ yard.

·        The meeting for the parish cruise fundraiser next January went well with approximately fifty people in attendance.

New Business:

·        Father shared the plans for the re-build of our parish sign.  The new section of the sign is ordered and the permitting procedure has begun.  The whole process should be completed within three months.

·        Patty complimented Father on the letter sent out for Lent.

·        A ten-day pilgrimage to Israel is being planned for the end of November 2010.  Father Bill Burton, the presenter at our parish mission in March, will be our guide and facilitator.

·        Patty questioned why our parish is not listed in the newspaper.  A discussion followed.

·        Father noted that the steeple and bell tower might need to be painted.  Manny will be pressure washing the area and if need be Tom Zoretic will paint it.

·        Bill suggested that the parish try a cakewalk gathering, utilizing a format similar to Generations of Faith.

Our next meeting will be Thursday, June 4, 2009.

The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m. with the Lord’s Prayer.
