November is a special time for remembering our deceased loved ones who are with us still in memory as well as in the unity of the Church, past and present, gathered in the heart of the eternal Christ. Please note the following ways we’ll remember our loved ones in November:
+Altar of Remembrance – A special area will be designated in the Guadalupe Shrine for you to place candles in memory of your loved ones which will be lighted for all the Masses of November. Our parish youth will be selling candles after Masses and will have several decorated ones on display for those who would like to remember your loved ones by decorating them. You may purchase a candle (only these will be allowed in the shrine area as they are more solid and less likely to burst) from our youth for $10 each. They will be blessed on the Feast of All Souls for your use at home or for placement in our shrine area.
+November Masses – All November Mass intentions will be offered for our “Beloved Deceased”. If you would like your loved ones remembered at these Masses, you may fill out and return one of the specially designated envelopes attached to this week’s bulletin or placed in the pew book holders along with whatever you choose as an offering to include. A basket with these envelopes will be placed in the sanctuary throughout the month of November to remember and celebrate the lives of those who have gone before us.
+This Past Year’s Losses – Before each November Mass, we will read the names and light candles in the memory of those from our parish whose funerals were celebrated here since last November. Our loss is heaven’s gain and we are grateful for the witness of those whose passing has been more recent.
+Visiting the Cemetery – On Tuesday, November 2, all are invited to gather at the gates of the Dalhart Cemetery at 5:30 p.m. to pray and remember. Please bring water to be blessed so that you and your family may then go to the graves of your loved ones and bless where they rest, remembering that those who have died in Christ in the waters of Baptism now live with Him forever in the glory of His resurrection.
