Christ Our Light, Shine in Our Hearts Dear Parents, Thanks for taking time out of busy schedules last week to come for your child’s conference. From what I heard there was good sharing. Hopefully we will all move forward with a better understanding of our students and their needs as together we try to help them to learn and grow to their full potential. Just a reminder that if at any time you have any questions or concerns about your child’s learning, please feel free to call and schedule an appointment with his/her teacher. If by chance you could not be here at the scheduled time, please call to schedule a time that works for you and your child’s teacher. We extend our sympathy and prayerful support to Laura, a 4th grader, and her family on the death of her grandfather, Frank Burns, last week. Thanks to those who came to the auction meeting on Wednesday night. A letter will be coming home next week with more information about the theme, donations, and committees. Special thanks to Anne Chlovechok and Rhonda Chesar for chairing this major fund-raiser for our school. A Few Reminders: · First payment for the Washington D.C. trip was due Monday, November 9, for 7th and 8th grade students and adults who plan to go. · November tuition was due today, Monday, November 16. · Dress code reminders: o There is really no need to wear boots since we have no snow and the classrooms are warm. If students do wear boots to school, pants are worn over the top of the boots. o School sweatshirts or T-shirts may be worn in the classrooms on P.E. days which are Mondays and Wednesdays. On other days if students are cold they need to wear a sweater. They will be asked to remove sweatshirts in the classroom. · The Student Council is sponsoring a food drive for Thanksgiving. Students are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to school between now and Thanksgiving. These will be taken to Grace Pantry to help those who are in need of food for their families. Activities such as these are part of the important value of service that we try to instill in our students, thinking about and reaching out to those who are in need of our help. · Last chance to purchase a chance on the MP3 player, 1/$1.00 or 8/$5.00. The drawing will be on Wednesday, November 25. Looking Ahead:
