Dear Parents and Students,
       Welcome to the 7th grade website. We love being in our new building! We are so tickled with the way it looks and with its many new features. The kids and teachers have adjusted nicely to the many changes. Come and visit us whenever you want to see why we’re all so proud.
        This year, we have small classes, so we should be able to get a lot done. The kids seem cooperative and anxious to do well. We have a discipline and homework policy in writing now that really seems to hit most problems that we had before(Homework being done, mainly). You should have seen and signed this the first week of school.
        In my classes, there is much reading and writing. I do expect the students to grow in their ability, and I’m always happy to see such progress over the years that we work together. You can help by looking over their work and encouraging them to proofread and try to achieve interesting, thoughtful paragraphs that can easily be read and understood.
        I also teach health, art, and spelling. We have spelling most days, and the kids need to study those words before the day of the tests. The seventh and eighth grade words are much harder than the sixth grade lists. Health and art happen once or twice a week, and the handwriting grade is based on homework, classwork, or tests that I happen to pull out for a grade. The kids never know which work will have a penmanship grade attached.
         We will try to get homework online for you to view every day. Remember to look at the bottom righthand corner for the average-to-date in that particular subject.
