Dear Parents and Students,

         Welcome to the 6th Grade website. Our class is located over in our new building under the gymnasium. We have been in this room for 4 ½ years now and still love it. Please come and visit us sometime.

         We have small classes in the junior high so can keep pretty good tabs on the learning being done. The kids are cooperative and most want to do well. We have discipline and homework policies that seem to hit problem areas.

         In my classes, there is much reading and writing. I do expect the students to grow in their ability, and I’m always happy to see such progress over the years that we work together. You can help by looking over their homework and encouraging them to proofread. We are working to write interesting, thoughtful paragraphs that can be easily read and understood.

         I also teach spelling (tests on Wednesdays and Fridays), health, and art. Handwriting grades may be taken on tests or homework, so everything should be neatly done.

         Most days I put the homework assignments online in case you need to check it. Also, try to view your tests. Remember to look at the bottom right-hand corner for the average-to-date in that particular subject.
