Welcome to the St.Bernard Pre School and Kindergarten web page!

My name is Barbara Turse and as the Director of St. Bernard Pre-School and Kindergarten, I would like to introduce you to our school and tell you a little about its programs.

Licensed by the State of New Jersey, our school offers a three half-day, a five half-day, or a five full day program. The five full day program includes Extended Care. Children must be three years old by December 31st of the school year program for which they are enrolled to be eligible for our Pre-School Program. We offer a full day Kindergarten Program!

Our school year runs from September to mid-June and we also offer a Summer Bible Program for a few weeks at the beginning of each summer! Our hours of operation are: 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM for Extended Care, and 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM for Half Day Programs.

Our Early Childhood Programs not only offer young children developmentally appropriate ways to learn about colors, letters, numbers, and sharing, but the children also learn about themselves, their family, friends, and the world around them in the context of a caring and loving Catholic educational environment. The very best educational and spiritual programs are presented by certified teachers who adhere to the highest standards of academic excellence. In addition to opportunities for independent and creative play, we also provide children with a developmentally appropriate program that is designed to promote experiences that help develop a positive self-image! These activities will also stimulate and satisfy curiosity, develop skills and encourage socialization.

Children will have special activities such as Physical Education, Music and Religion each week. Holiday themes, environmental studies, computers, storytelling and educational class trips enrich our academic curriculum!

Kindergarten children have a formal reading and math program designed to prepare them, exceptionally well, for the first grade. Our dedicated staff of certified teachers and teachers assistants provide guidance and lots of TLC - bringing years of teaching expertise to help guide parents in their children's first years of school.
