Meet Christine Dalessio, our Director of Youth Ministry.....

By way of introduction, my name is Christine Dalessio and I am grateful and excited to be joining St. Bernard's as the new Youth Director. I have been married for over eight years to my husband Mike. I have been involved in youth outreach projects in Appalachia and Indian Island, Maine, have organized World Youth Day trips and fundraisers, and most recently assisted with the undergraduate group at Rutgers University. My background includes four years teaching English and Religion in a private high school. I have lived in Germany and Kentucky, but New Jersey has always been home. I am a willing traveler and avid reader, but more importantly I love to spend time with a web of amazing Catholics who are a support for my marriage and my life. I have met many of the parish youth and I am excited to continue getting to know them and sharing our faith journey together. Thank you for your warm welcome to the St. Bernard community. I look forward to great things ahead!

The heart of Youth Ministry is to be the "light" of Christ to every young person we come in contact with every single day. Young people are our precious gift from God. We want to nurture in them, a desire to love Christ and the Church. We are always looking for ways to interact with the young people of our parish family. St. Bernard is committed to the young people of our parish, with various programs geared to serving our youth from ages 5 - 18! If you would like to help in being a part of our mission, or if you have any questions concerning youth ministry, please contact our Director Christine Dalessio at 908-725-0552, extension 816.

Here's some information about the youth groups which are flourishing within our Youth Ministry Program at St. Bernard...

Our Young Builder's Club, which meets once a month for ages three years right up to the fifth grade, is a great opportunity for parents and children to spend quality time working on various K'NEKS projects. Please feel free to contact Peter and Wilma Papa, the coordinators of this ministry at 908-218-1824, or you may email them at ybcinfo@optonline.net

Middle School Youth Group meets once a month for various outings, service projects and many other fun activities.

High School Youth Group meets every first and third Sundays. At our meetings we can discuss current events, participate in service projects and plan weekend trips and weekend retreats as well. Our meetings are really great fun, combining the serious matters with awesome activities. Most of our meetings take place in our very own "state of the art" youth room. It is called the Lighthouse and is located on the 3rd floor of the parish center. Stop by and bring a friend, or come alone and make some friends. All high school age youth are welcome!

Want more BANG out of your youth group? Consider joining our core/planning team on Tuesday nights from 7:30-9pm for Bible study and event planning. Any questions? email Christine at light4Him@optonline.net
