Located in beautiful scenic Smethport Pennsylvania Saint Elizabeth's has been building on a solid faith foundation for over 100 years. Our mission is to provide our community and membership with an inspirational and spiritual presence and build a strong church family. With the leadership of Father Vincent Cieslewicz and a dedicated team of parishoners the church continues to grow in faith and love in Christ.

WE'VE BEEN AROUND!

(HISTORY)


 St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church has been around a long time!  It was first established as a parish in 1869 with Fr. P.J. Patterson as pastor.  Its new building was dedicated by Bishop Tobias Mullen on April 26, 1876.  More than likely, the parish grew from the first-recorded Catholic Church in McKean County found in 1809 in the village of Instanter (Seargeant Township.)
