The Perpetual Adoration Chapel at St. Elizabeth North Medical Center officially began on March 5, 2007. A year prior, with Bishop Foys’ encouragement and blessing, and the gracious permission and support of Joe Gross - the president of St. Elizabeth hospitals, Janice Kennedy along with Theresa Gray, Blane Comfort and several other members of the St. Thomas and St. Agnes Adoration teams worked together on the preliminary planning needed to launch the Adoration schedule.
In October 2006, Monsignor Bill Neuhaus offered to have Father Villone from the Missionaries of the Blessed Sacrament speak at all the Masses at the Basilican St. Mary Cathedral to encourage adorers to sign up for a specific hour of adoration. With the gracious assistance of Ron Lawson, Father Larry Villone’s talk was video taped and shown at most of the inner city parishes, including the parishes in Ludlow, Bellevue and Newport. The response was very positive with enough Adorers to launch the opening on March 5, 2007. Monsignor Rutz, Father Ryan Maher and Monsignor Michael Due have provided guidance and support throughout the process and continue to do so. Carolyn Wright graciously took on the task of developing the website. There were and are many others including the Division Leaders – (Tom and Nancy Brinkman, Paul Kloeker, Mary Ankenbauer, Ann Clarke, Maureen Schultheis, Janice Kennedy, Carolyn Wright, Kathy Danneman) who generously give of their time to keep the process running smoothly.
One more important blessing is the location of the Chapel where there is parking at the door of the hospital and courteous and most helpful security guards available 24 four hours a day.

It is heartening to hear Adorers share the many blessings they have received from their weekly hour of Adoration. Most would agree that their hour of Adoration helps them grow closer to God. Others have shared personal miracles by way of answered prayer and a new sense of peace.
