THANKSGIVING BASKETS What a beautiful time of year - Fall! As the colorful leaves are falling the harvest is almost over, we as American's look forward to one of our favorite holidays... Thanksgiving! Warm memories of time spent with family and friends come to mind as well as our favorite foods and tables overflowing with abundance. We have all been truly blessed. As Christians, we don't just set aside one day to be thankful, we must continually thank God for all that He has given us. One way to give thanks is by giving to others. By sharing with others we extend our love and care to those in need. There are many families in need this year especially with our rough economy, and we ask you to help make their Thanksgiving Holiday one to remember. We will be collecting food for the baskets that will include turkey and all the trimmings. There will be sign up sheets on the gathering space bulletin board, to sign up for donating turkey's. Also, the greatest need this year is for the gift certificates in any amount of your choice $10.00, $15.00, $20.00 or $25.00, which will be used for perishable goods from Kroger or Meijer. The collection boxestubs for the food will be available in the back of church each week. Food items that are needed are mashed potatoes, Mexican flour (masarina), rice, gravy, dressing, green beans, corn, yams, carrots, canned fruit, cranberries, pudding, Jell-O, pies and cool whip. We thank you for your generosity and kindness. If you would like to help sort the food and pack the boxes, please join us on Sunday, November 22nd at 3:00 p.m. in our Parish Hall. Looking forward to sharing our blessings with you. Thank you, have a great week. Joyce Smith 586 749-9727
