Ministries to the Sick |
When we think of giving to a Charity, generally we think of giving money. However, because of the depressed economy, most of us have very little extra cash to give. Have you considered giving of your time? What if you were ill or injured and could not attend Mass? What if you were hospitalized and wanted communion? What if you or a loved one were in a nursing home? How would you still receive the Eucharist? This is the mission of the Ministers to the Sick (MTS). Ministers to the Sick is a program whereby trained men and women visit the sick in hospitals, nursing homes and homebound for prayer, communion and comfort. Ministers to the Sick can arrange for communion to be brought to any Catholic who is unable to participate in Mass. Ministers to the Sick visit the chronically ill, aged. and injured. Are you compassionate? Do you have a special place in your heart for those who cannot attend Mass? Do you feel that God is calling you to reach out and make a difference in our Parish and community? We are in need of loving parishioners to visit and share Christ through the Eucharist, with our sick and elderly who are unable to celebrate Mass each week. Maybe you can't commit to every week …. Maybe once a month is what you have in mind …. Or committing to be a backup for one of the other ministers …. For more information, please call Sue Troisi, MTS Coordinator, at 407-739-6224 oremail: sucque53@gamil.com orcall the parish office at 407-886-4602. As each one has received a gift. minister it to one another,
Please prayerfully consider joining the Ministers to the Sick (MTS) and sharing your spirituality with those in need. What a wonderful way to "give" to a well deserving charity within our own Parish.
as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
