PASTORAL COUNCIL: The Pastoral Council of St. Francis of Assisi is a two-tiered system. It consists of a Board and an assembly which represents the whole community. The council serves as an advisory and consultative body to the pastor. The Board consists of six elected members, besides ex-officio members - the pastor, associate pastors, administrator, and one finance member appointed by the pastor. The Board has voting power by the elected members only. The assembly consists of Board members and representatives from all ministries. The assembly has no voting power. The Pastoral Council meets monthly - the Board odd months and the assembly even months. The parish community is invited to attend the assembly meetings. STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE: This ministry develops and fosters a Christian community atmosphere whereby the spiritual and social needs of parishioners can be realized through a total Stewardship Program of Time, Talent, and Treasure, resulting in a sense of belonging, involvement and commitment for each parishioner. Members are invited to the committee by the pastoral and parish staff. FINANCE COMMITTEE: Members of this committee assist, counsel, and advise the pastor in the overall fiscal operations of the parish. Members are invited by the pastor to be a part of the Finance Committee based on their general knowledge and financial expertise. BUILDING & FACILITIES COMMITTEE: Members of the Building Committee work in conjunction with the Five Year Planning Committee, a sub-committee of the Parish Council. They study the feasibility of their recommendations for future re-modeling and construction to accommodate parish growth. Members of the Building Committee are invited by the pastor based on their personal and professional knowledge. WORSHIP COMMITTEE: The Worship Committee gives structure to the process of liturgical planning as well as provides guidance and evaluation with regards to liturgical custom. This committee insures that the public worship of the parish is in accordance with Diocesan Liturgical Guidelines and the Liturgical Documents of the Second Vatican Council. The membership of this committee is comprised of the coordinators of the various Liturgical Ministries and the Pastoral Staff. We encourage parishioners to lend support and input to this committee by becoming actively involved in a particular Liturgical Ministry. ADULT EDUCATION BOARD: The members of this board meet to plan and develop adult education programs that encompass special needs of the various sub-groups within the adult community. The members of the committee are chosen by the Director of Education.
