Dear Friends of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Welcome to our website and our community. I hope that you will find the information displayed here not only helpful, but also spiritually uplifting. A parish is a gathering of God's people within a specific geographical area. However, it is also a community of believers, which has no boundaries and no exclusivity. So, we invite you to come and join us in whatever way is possible and comfortable for you. We are happy to be able to journey with you even for just the briefest of moments. Our parish is under the patronage of St. Francis of Assisi, a man who had everything, but gave it all up to embrace "Lady Poverty," and to live the way of the Cross of Jesus Christ. We, as members of this community, strive to follow in St. Francis' footsteps through an extensive outreach ministry, which attempts to meet the needs of the people in the Apopka area. Our wooded campus lends itself to a meditative atmosphere in which nature is appreciated and celebrated. Our liturgical ministries endeavor to express our faith in simplicity and honesty. The sick, lonely, disabled and the dying are cared for by individuals who truly feel the spirit and call of not only St. Francis, but also of God's healing and compassionate heart. Our youth are involved, committed, and open to receiving the fullest challenges of Christ in their lives. The people of St. Francis of Assisi parish are hard working, free-spirited and faith-filled people. Their gifts and talents are freely given and lovingly presented. We are sinners and know of our real need for mercy and forgiveness. We work together not for some pie-in-the-sky perfection, but for an honest Christian response to needs of our brothers and sisters. So we invite you to come and join us in this journey of faith, even for the briefest of moments. We have heard the words of St. Francis of Assisi, "First try to do the things that are necessary, next attempt to do that which is possible, and before you know it, you will be doing those things that are impossible." Be assured as you come to share with us, that we will indeed share with you all that the Lord Jesus has given us. I pray that the blessings and peace of Christ be in your hearts, in your homes and in your every day life. Fr. Tim Rev. Timothy P. LaBo, Pastor
