St. Gabriel Church Christian Mothers Group at 3016 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28211 US - Welcome New Members

Dear Mothers,                                                                           Welcome to Christian Mothers’ Group’s (CMG) 20th year!  During the course of our year, we hope you meet new friends who will reinforce, support and encourage the monumental roles you have as a Christian, wife, and mother.  We truly believe the Lord wants us to seek out other women to help us embrace the challenges that come with all aspects of being a woman.  CMG draws membership not only from our host church, St. Gabriel, but from many other denominations as well.  Our prayer for you is that the diversity of this group will help meet your needs.      Our regularly scheduled meetings are on select Friday mornings in rooms A and B on the lower level of the Ministry Center at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church.  Social time is from 9:15-9:45 a.m. followed by our regular meeting from 9:45-11:30 a.m.  Our programs are structured to nurture and celebrate our vocations as mothers and wives, encourage each other through personal and spiritual growth, and provide fellowship and service opportunities.  Babysitting is available at a nominal cost, but reservations are required.  (See attached childcare policies.)     In addition to our bi-monthly meetings, we sponsor a variety of spiritual and charitable events.  Our Women in the Word Bible Study meets weekly to reflect on the readings for each Sunday’s mass, plus we sponsor a Prayer Chain and a Women’s Overnight Retreat.  We will hold our huge, annual fundraiser in October, the Children’s Consignment Sale, and in November, CMG will once again host the Reception for Parents of Deceased Children.  December will bring our popular outreach project, The Giving Tree, which provides nearly 1500 gifts to families in need.  As disciples of Jesus Christ, CMG reaches beyond its own members to serve the families of our community.    CMG also offers several activities in the evenings and on weekends to accommodate the needs of mothers who work outside the home and who may be unable to attend our Friday meetings.  Our biggest hits last year were family-oriented, Saturday events, the Pumpkin Patch & Hayride, Breakfast with Santa, and the Easter Egg Hunt.  We are also hoping for another lovely, spring Sunday for our Mother-Daughter Tea Party.  To receive more details and information on all these programs and more, be sure to visit our Christian Mothers’ Group webpage at www.saintgabriel.catholicweb.com.    CMG is a wonderfully dynamic group of women reaching out to encourage and support each other by following Christ’s example to us.  We feel very blessed to have mothers among us who view our group as a catalyst for their spiritual growth and development.  We hope you will actively join our group and experience its enthusiasm and spirit.  Together we will challenge each other to become the women God wants us to be.   Our Love and Prayers, Margie Eades–(704)541-7703: President Jeanette Cancellieri–(704)895-1073: Vice President Darlene Zona–(704)372-4999: Treasurer
