Happy New Year to each of you and your families. I wanted to update you on some important dates associated with Michael's priesthood ordination in Toronto, Ontario on Tuesday, May 26th---17 weeks from today and counting!.
1) Ordination: Michael will be ordained on Tuesday, May 26th at 6 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. A reception will follow in the parish hall in the basement of the church. The next day, Wednesday, May 27th, Michael will celebrate his first Mass at 11:30 a.m. followed by another reception at a restaurant.
2) Travel/Lodging plans: Our family has made our flight reservations from Charlotte to Toronto with arrival on Sunday evening, May 24th, and departing on Wednesday evening, May 27th. Please be aware that Canada requires a current passport for international travel. We will be securing hotel rooms this week at a Marriott Courtyard, so if you have any interest in staying at the same hotel, please let me know ASAP (mesarge@aol.com). There may be parishioners offering their homes as well, so contact Michael about that: kmichaeleadesjr@gmail.com
3) First Mass in Charlotte: For those unable to travel to Toronto, (Fr.) Michael invites you to attend his first Mass in Charlotte on Saturday, June 20th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gabriel Church. It will be a special Father's Day weekend, so if you can make it, please let me know.
4) Pilgrimage to the Holy Land: (Fr.) Michael has been asked to lead a 10-day pilgrimage to the Holy Land from May 31st to June 9th. Here is the information Michael sent to me. The price may vary according to the city you are flying out of. Please contact Michael (kmichaeleadesjr@gmail.com) for more details:
