                      Reflections on the Gallup Survey
Some parishioners' thoughts about individual spiritual committment and spiritual health:
  • I Spend Time In Worship or Prayer Each Day
  •  I meditate on the “Our Father” each morning when I wake up. This gives me a “check list” to handle my day, beginning with acknowledgement (worship) of God, what my “daily bread” consists of, the offenses I commit and receive, and forgiveness for those offenses. It puts my spiritual path in perspective.
  • I have an attitude of gratitude in my daily activities, i.e., finding God in everything: the challenges, the successes.
  • I thank God for the situations and people in my life and those I meet during the day, whether I know them or not.
  • I smile at complete strangers and am constantly amazed how they seem to light up and smile back.
  • I keep my eyes and ears open to the needs of others – the older woman at the check-out counter who needs a ride home, returning another’s grocery cart in the parking lot, etc.
                               The Parish Engagement Survey

The results of the Gallup Survey are in and are posted in our Articles Section of the web site. In addition, Sr. Diane has written a series of 4 articles explaining their meaning and our next steps. Go to the section on the right side of our site for all the details.
Long Beach Catholic School-Passion Play
As they do each year, the 7th grade students from Long Beach Catholic Regional School will present a re-creation of our Lord's passion.  The Play will take place on Tuesday, April 15th at 1:00 p.m. in St. Ignatius Martyr Church and at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary of the Isle Church.  The children have been working very hard to make this a prayerful experience for all in preparation for the feast of Easter.  All are welcome to join us.

My heart overflows with great mercy for souls, and especially for poor sinners… it is for them that the Blood and Water flowed from My Heart a from a fount overflowing with mercy. For them I dwell in the tabernacle as King of Mercy. (Diary of St. Faustina)

The Feast of Divine Mercy will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Martyr Church on Sunday, April 27th, at 2:30 p.m.
To prepare for Divine Mercy Sunday all are encouraged to pray the Divine Mercy Novena which will begin and made available on April 18th, Good Friday.
The message of the Divine Mercy and recitation of the novena prayers and chaplet are a powerful reminder of who God is and has been from the very beginning, Love and Mercy Itself.
