By Jeff Kreutzer Mission Statement To serve those in need within the St. Joseph Parish family through the creation and direction of an effective needs-oriented assistance program provided and monitored by committed volunteers. Vision Statement To be a responsible source of aid, comfort and reliability to those in need within the parish community. To encourage all parishioners, both young and old, to volunteer their time, talent and resources for the benefit of others. To grow this ministry to insure sufficient assistance to satisfy the needs of every parishioner seeking services. To refine and improve the entire program to the point where it becomes the model for excellence to which similar organizations will aspire. The Outreach Program is currently providing sixteen different services performed by fifteen different providers to a dozen parishioners. Additionally, the program has linked three of these with local social service agencies capable of providing special additional needs beyond the qualifications of Outreach volunteers and at no cost to the care receiver. Volunteer services include visiting, transportation, food preparation, legal assistance, meds administration by nurses, errands, and respite care. It is important to know that diocesan and parish insurance will cover any potential accident associated with assisting a parishioner.
