St. John The Apostle at 7341 Glenview Dr., North Richland Hills, TX 76180 US - Our Organization's History

Our Organization's History

St. John the Catholic Church
The history of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church was prepared and researched by Hulda Littlefield , Tom Wertz, and Mo Jutzi(deceased). The origin of St. John's begins with the many Catholic families living in Richland Hills, North Richland Hills, Hurst, Bedford, Euless, Colleyville, Smithfields, and Watauga, together with families from locations adjacent to some of these areas. The families had attened St. George's Parish Church in Riverside for years. Many of the children also attened St. George's catholic school. It is from these areas/families that our parish was formed. When word was offically released that a new church and school were to be built in North Richland Hills, a great number of families were elated over the news. On August 15, 1964 Msgr. William McCoey, our first pastor, celebrated St. John's first mass. Today we are a thriving parish with 3600 families and 10,000 members.
