Ø      Open House – 9:00 a.m. – noon – Science Projects on display.

Coffee, Juice and Doughnuts served.

Ø      Book Fair open in cafeteria.

Ø      All Parish Skating Party at the RECA Roller Rink in afternoon – time to be announced in the January 22nd Newsletter.

 

 

Monday, January 26, 2009

Ø      All School Opening Prayer Service at 8:15 a.m.

Ø      Each classroom will begin to collect pennies, silver coins or dollar bills for the Penny War.

Ø      “Sundaes on Monday” 2:00 p.m.

Ø      All School Bingo after “Sundaes on Monday”.

 

 

Tuesday, January 27, 2009

Ø      Students are asked to bring in fruit or baskets to make fruit baskets for

shut-ins of parish.

Ø      Students are asked to bring in pennies, silver coins or dollar bills for the Penny War.

Ø      Alumni of St. Joseph, New Author, Renee Vincent, (aka “Shelley

Sendelbach Rawe”) will speak to students on her newly published book.

Ø      Book Fair open for Grades K-8 and their parents:

o       Grades K-2   -           1:00 – 1:45 p.m.

o       Grades 3-4   -           9:15 – 10:00 a.m.

o       Grades 5-6   -           11:15 – 12:00 noon

o       Grades 7-8   -           10:15 – 11:00 a.m.

Ø      “Read to Succeed” – Students will read a book purchased from Book Fair or bring in their favorite book to read from 2:30 – 3:00 p.m.

 

 

Wednesday, January 28, 2009

Ø      Students are asked to bring in fruit or baskets to make fruit baskets for

shut-ins of parish.

Ø      Students are asked to bring in pennies, silver coins or dollar bills for the Penny War.

Ø      8th grade class will attend a Diocesan Mass at Cathedral and will go in uniform.  When they return, they will be able to change clothes.

Ø      Spirit Day.  Students may wear jeans or sweats along with any top that has gold or black (school colors) in it.

Ø      Assembly – 2:45 p.m. – “I Can” awards and Birthdays for January

 

 

 

Thursday, January 29, 2009

Ø      Students are asked to bring in fruit or baskets to make fruit baskets for

shut-ins  of parish.

Ø      Students are asked to bring in pennies, silver coins or dollar bills for the Penny War.

Ø      Mass at 9:15 a.m.

v     Students will carry fruit baskets up at the Offertory.

v     Students will present Father Twaddell with a Thank You card.

Ø      Students will make cards for soldiers and send.

Ø      Faculty and Staff will have a catered lunch for Faculty & Staff Appreciation.

Ø      Rose Roth will brown bag the students’ lunches.  Volunteers are needed to stay and chaperone the students while teachers enjoy their catered lunch.

Ø      Physical Education Activity - Students will go on a field trip to Town & Country in Wilder, Ky.  -  Students will pack their lunch and bring with them.

Ø      In afternoon, students can participate in an activity in each classroom.

·        Karaoke

·        Corn Hole

·        Game Room

·        Movie

Ø      Students are asked to bring in pennies,  silver coins and dollar bills for Penny War as the Penny War will take place.
