Who Are We?

PHILOSOPHY
It is the philosophy of St. Joseph Elementary School to provide an environment that is conducive to the spiritual, academic, emotional and social development of children, which best occurs in partnership with teachers, parents and community. The children are encouraged to form values based upon the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. St. Joseph Elementary School promotes students’ success as they mature into productive Christian members of society.
MISSION STATEMENT
Jesus Christ is the center of our school community and the model by which we measure our standards for our daily lives. Our mission is to reflect the teachings of Jesus Christ in our curriculum, activities, and school environment. We strive for academic excellence so that students are able to meet the challenges that face them in all their endeavors.
From these principles the following objectives are established:
1. To have a better understanding of the Catholic faith and to grow spiritually.
2. To recognize Christ in every person.
3. To develop Christian Values through instruction and practice.
4. To build a strong sense of self worth with each child.
5. To strengthen the child’s individual, intellectual, physical, and emotional growth through
love and support.
6. To help each child reach his/her full potential.
7. To develop a spirit of patriotism and an appreciation for their cultural heritage
and that of others.
8. To nurture a respect for the earth and its resources.
Our goal is to bring out the best in each child. Parents and teachers will work together and support one another in order to provide for the children’s educational needs. We will keep in mind the life of Christ as we strive together to build the Kingdom of God.
