About the MNSAA...

This accrediting association provides a way for non-public schools to develop and maintain high standards of excellence. The association is dedicated to encouraging school improvement.

What being accredited means...

Accreditation is one way to help schools find ways to seek and maintain quality education. It requires schools to examine their mission and purpose and to have a strategic plan for school improvement.

A site team of public and non-public educators from various levels and positions visits the school and prepared a report for review by a team of readers who recommend accreditation status to the Leadership Council.

Once a school becomes accredited, the school must submit an annual report to document compliance to state rules and regulations. The school must also describe their progress in addressing any concerns listed on the site team's report. Every seven years, the school must undergo a complete self-study process.

When our school became accredited...

St. Joseph Catholic School was first accredited in 1995. The school went through the accreditation process a second time in 2002 and was found in compliance with all state rules and regulations. A strategic plan was formed and the areas recommended for improvement have been or will be addressed during the current 7-year cycle.
