St. Joseph Parish History
St. Joseph Parish was formed in 1992 as the merger of
three Roman Catholic churches in Natrona, PA.
St. Mathias (Pond Street), St. Ladislaus (Spruce Street) and the "old" St. Joseph church (Garfield Street)merged to become the "new" St. Joseph Parish.
The "old" St. Joseph Church on Garfield Street was closed and St. Mathias Church and St. Ladislaus Church remained as the worship sites for the newly formed parish.
The first pastor of the "new" St. Joseph Parish (Natrona) was Father Thomas Kirby.
In 2008, the St. Mathias Church closed and the sole remaining church
in the parish is St. Ladislaus Church at 48 Spruce Street.
