TODAY IS THE SOLEMNITY OF
OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST THE KING
Introduction to the Liturgy of the Day
We come together this day to honor Jesus Christ as Our Lord and King. In celebrating this solemnity, we acknowledge Jesus as the One in whom creation comes to completion, through whom salvation comes to us and our world, and for whom we act in the world. Let your prayer today be that God’s kingdom will come in us, through us, for us and all creation.

We are seeking households to light the Advent Wreath at the beginning of each Mass. A signup sheet is located at the side entrance of the Church. Family Advent Wreath Blessing—Remember to bring your Advent wreath to Church next weekend (November 28/29) to be blessed. You may place your Advent wreath on the table which will be set up in the Sanctuary in front of the altar. Father will bless the wreaths during Mass; after Mass remember to take your wreath home with you.

Social Action Corner
Monthly Food Collection—Thank you for your continued support of the monthly food collections. At Thanksgiving time we are all truly appreciative of what God has given us—your desire to share is heartwarming.
Giving Tree—The annual Giving Tree will be available beginning next weekend (November 28/29) with tags for purchasing specifically requested gifts for children in need. Please choose a tag with a gift you are comfortable purchasing (a substitution leaves a child possibly without that one special gift on his/her list). Gifts are due back on the weekend of December 12/13 and they will be donated to and distributed by the Windsor Family Services.
Collection for the Troops—As a tradition the last several years, paper t-shirts will also be available on the Giving Tree to be returned with your donation to enable us to continue to send packages to the troops in harm’s way. These packages are so appreciated and the words of thanks and photos we receive throughout the year are bountiful.
As we did last year, we will again be mailing Christmas cards to the troops. If you have a family card that you would like to share, please bring it with you to Mass next weekend (November 28/29) and put it in the basket by the Giving Tree. We will also have some blank Christmas cards available for you to write out if you forget to bring one from home.
For more information on how you can participate in even a small way in Social Action at Saint Joseph Parish, contact Joan Alutto at 683-2056 or jalutto@comcast.net.

Lord of ages past and to come, bless our home.
Help us to see You in one another and in all who
enter through our door. Help us to forgive one
another, to affirm and nurture one another, to
celebrate our lives together.
We come to our table to celebrate this Thanksgiving Day,
with joy and gratitude for the good food with
which we are blessed today, for the people who
helped prepare it and for all of God’s gifts to us.
Jesus is our light and our salvation. We give thanks
for all the many gifts that we have received. Let us
also remember those who today are lonely, hungry
or homeless.
We gratefully remember too, our family members
and loved ones who are not here with us physically
and celebrate the gift which they have been
and continue to be for us.
We make our prayer as we do all things through
Christ Our Lord. Amen.
Archbishop Henry J. Mansell
