My name is Cindy Cormier and I am a junior high teacher at St. Jude School. I began teaching at St. Jude in the fall of 1999. I enjoy teaching Social Studies to the 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Social Studies include the study of Europe, Asia, Africa, and American History during the three years of junior high. Each year, I coordinate the Annual Social Studies Fair. On that evening, students' projects are displayed showing a culmination of the concepts that were learned throughout the year. Students also bring in food that is native to the country they chose for their project. I am a graduate of Eastern Michigan University. I also attended E.M.U. for post graduate work. I began my teaching career in Alpena with 3rd grade. I have been teaching at the junior high level for 16 years. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and traveling. If I ever win the lottery, I would visit all the places that I have read about with my students.
