School Librarian My professional life started out as a registered nurse (which I still am) but then in the years while my husband and I were busy putting our 5 children through this school, I fell in love with the St. Jude library. What began as a volunteer opportunity, became a position as school librarian in August 1990. Along the way, I have developed some interesting and relevant sideline work. Since 1998, I have been the book reviewer and feature writer for Women's LifeStyle Magazine locally. In 2004 I became a published children's author with Heinemann Publishing in Chicago. I now have 3 published children's books to my credit: All Around Michigan, Regions and Resources (2004), Hands on History: Ancient Rome (2007) and Hands on History: Ancient Egypt (2006). A series of 7 books on recycling for young readers will be published in fall 2007. I am a graduate of St. Isidore's Grade School, Catholic Central High School, Mercy Central School of Nursing at St. Mary's Hospital, Grand Rapids, and then...with great joy, I went back to college for fun. One class at a time, over a 10 year period I earned a B.A. with a major in English in 1998. I am married to Ray, an engineer and attorney, and we have 5 grown children and 2 grandchildren, scattered all over the country. Here at St. Jude School we have a library of wonderful readers and over 9,000 terrific books to catch their interests. Stop in and browse. Classes come in for 30 minutes once a week but the library is open for use every day on an honor system.
