A LITTLE BIT OF THIS AND A LITTLE BIT OF THAT

As we begin to approach the fall season I would just like to update you on a few things that will be happening at St. Lawrence.
First of all is today’s picnic, it will be held rain or shine [hopefully shine] and you can purchase tickets after church and we will sell tickets at the door, however if more come to buy them at the door we might have to turn some away if we do not have enough food ordered.
I have not thanked all of those who have donated to the Archbishop8 0s Annual Appeal, our goal was about $26,600 and we received a little less than $33,000 so we will be getting some money back this year. If you still wish to donate the Appeal is still open.
Last week I told you about our cat population, because of a donation from some individuals not connected to St. Lawrence as well as a donation from St. Lawrence Church itself they will start trapping the cats for their physicals, altering and possibly adoption. There is always a need for donations so please see my letter in last week’s bulletin.
As you know our church building needs some repairs and freshening up. We will be repairing the steps soon and that might cause some inconvenience in entering however we have the other doors.
I have written the Archbishop for permission to freshen up the inside of the church including the floors, ceiling, lighting, pews, and so forth. He has forwarded my letter to the proper offices and we will be starting the process in the future. Whenever we deal with the Archdiocese, it does take more time than we anticipate.
If anyone is interested in becoming a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Server, Choir Member or any other part of our ministries please see Fr. Jim. I know I have been in contact with some of you already and will beginning the training soon.
