Our Parish will be commemorating our 50th Golden Jubilee Anniversary soon! Beginning in May of 2011, and continuing for a full year, our Parish will celebrate this wonderful milestone. The first event to mark the beginning of our celebration will be a Special Mass on Sunday, May 22, 2011. More details and events will be announced soon!
To highlight the coming of our 50th Anniversary as a Parish, Father Mike Caridi wrote the following in the bulletin on March 8, 2009:
50TH JUBILEE YEAR
As I announced previously from the pulpit, May 25th, 2011 will mark the fiftieth year since the founding of Saint Louise de Marillac Parish. It is our plan to celebrate our Golden Jubilee in a manner befitting this momentous occasion in our parish life. I have appointed a committee to plan, organize and coordinate our year long observance of our fifty years as a parish. We hope to have all groups in the parish actively participating in the celebration and observance of this important milestone.
We are now just in the formative stage of our planning. In addition to the Golden Jubilee Committee having meetings with representatives of all the parish groups, we would appreciate receiving written suggestions, recommendations and ideas from any parishioners who would like to offer their input by dropping off or mailing their comments to the “Golden Jubilee Committee” at the parish office.
The Golden Jubilee observance will begin on approximately May 25, 2011 and end one year later. With all of our prayers and efforts, it should be a rewarding and exciting time for all of us. We look forward to receiving your input.
To plan for our year of celebration, a Jubilee Committee has been formed. At present, the members include Father Mike Caridi, Father Jeff Molnar, Sam Trentadue, Mary Pat Suchy, Shirley Prendergast, Dorothy Holden, Kathy Hirata, and Blanch Bednar.
