Dear Parent,
We are having a very busy week here at school. We are trying to prepare for Grandparent’s Day, Golden Alumni mass, do ITBS testing and all the usual things that pop up in a week. Keep us in your prayers!
GRANDPARENT’S DAY
Schedule: Please tell your parents that classroom visits will begin at 9:00. The students may go out to recess at 9:45 and come back in at 10:00. We would like students and grand parents at church by 10:10 as Mrs. Greenwood has a short musical program for the grandparents. Mass will be at 10:30 followed by lunch. Students are dismissed after lunch. They may leave with their grandparents or be picked up by a parent or someone else. This is a special day for kids and grandparents; I hope all will enjoy it.
The back of this letter has a list of people volunteered to work for the grandparent’s dinner. THANK YOU!
If you haven’t signed up and find you can help out Thursday night at 6:30, or Friday morning, just show up or give us a call.
HELP!!!! Kelly, our cook, would like some help slicing meat anytime after 2:00. If you could possibly help with this send an email or give us a call. She does this with the meat slicer. It’s not a difficult job but goes much more smoothly with two people, and shouldn’t take much more than an hour. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!
SATURDAY-2nd GRADE RETREAT
Just a reminder all First Communion Students and their parents should attend a Reconciliation Retreat at St. John’s Saturday beginning at 9:00. I believe we will be done late morning.
SUNDAY MASS
CHILDREN’S CHOIR please be at church between 8:45 and 9:00. Thank you for your participation. This is a Children’s Mass and it always nice to see children at a Children’s Mass. Please join us even if your child is not involved.
As you probably know River Valley Middle School closed this week due to the large number of staff and students with flu. St. Luke’s does not have an absolute plan if River Valley would shut down the entire district. Considerations would be: How many of our staff and students were ill? Would the district continue to provide bussing and if not could we come up with a workable plan to get students here? We have only had a few students at a time out so we are not going to get ahead of ourselves. Even if we had to work by phone calls we would be sure to inform everyone if we needed change the regular attendance. Keep washing your hands!
THE PUMPKIN CONTEST IS UNDERWAY! Please consider showing your creative side by decorating apumpkin for our contest. They will be on display for Grandparent’s Day and for the Golden Alumni Open House on Sunday. Pumpkins should be here by the end of the school day Thursday if you want them to be part of the contest and be judged.
It’s quite a week. The weather for the weekend sounds great! Enjoy!
