The Spiritual Life Commission is composed of a staff resource person responsible for Liturgy and representatives of the various ministries including readers, hospitality, eucharistic ministers and music. The primary responsibility of the Spiritual Life Commission is to provide opportunities that will help lead all the faithful to a full, conscious and active participation in liturgical celebrations. The Liturgical Documents will be the basis for all decisions. The Spiritual Life Commission is responsible for the following: · To oversee and promote the spiritual growth of the parish, fostering spirituality rooted in the Word (gospel values) and the sacraments. · To encourage communication among liturgical ministers and the parish at large to ensure that liturgical and spiritual needs are being addressed. · To promote spiritual enrichment, both personal and communal prayer life, that includes but is not limited to such opportunities as parish missions, liturgical ministry retreats, Advent and Lenten programs and devotions. · To evaluate and oversee the quality of parish worship and spiritual programs. · To establish standards of practice for various liturgical ministries: Cantor, Reader, Acolyte, Liturgy Planner, Music Ministry, Greeter, Usher, Extraordinary Minister of Communion, Art & Environment, Sacristan, Breadmaker, Gift Bearers.
