St. Mary's at 1115 Pearl St., Anderson, IN 46016 US - Soup Kitchen

The Soup Kitchen Ministry is a cooperative effort between St. Mary's and St. Ambrose Parishes.  Ingredients are donated and soup is prepared.  The soup, along with donated crackers, cheese, and fruit are delivered and served at the following locations:  The Christian Center Rescue Ministries, and Alternatives.

Serving in this ministry can be in one or more of the following areas:

Serving Team Members at one of the soup kitchen locations help ready the food and tables for distribution, and clean up after.  Those who serve may also join those being served in the meal.  Teams are typically scheduled to serve every fourth month.

Cooks prepare one gallon of soup at the beginning of the last week of the month.  Ingredients are furnished and can be delivered if the cook is homebound.

Soup Kitchen Supporting Activities Help assist with one or more of the following areas once a month:  Collecting the food items at weekend Masses, preparing of ingredient bags for cooks, delivering ingredients to homebound cooks, collecting soup from homebound cooks, or delivering soups and other meal food items to the three Food Kitchen sites.
