Altar Servers assist the celebrant during Mass and during other special liturgies.
Cross Bearers carry the cross in the processions which begin and end the liturgies. Both men and women are eligible to be Altar Servers and Cross Bearers.
Serving in this ministry requires a person who is a baptized Catholic, is at least in the 4th grade, and has received their First Communion. Training is provided. Altar Servers and Cross Bearers are typically scheduled every 6 to 8 weeks or as needed for other liturgical functions.
