The Planning and Administration Commission is composed of a staff resource person responsible for various parish administrative areas and representatives of various ministries including Stewardship, Maintenance, Finance, and Planning. The Commission is responsible for:
- Helping to propose plans for the future life of the parish, to suggest direction, and to issue the call to planning and evaluation.
- To freshen the ranks of parish volunteers.
- To coordinate a periodic census and updating of parish files to assure that accurate information is available for recruitment purposes.
- To represent new parishioners or parishioners who do not belong to any specific parish organization or ministry. The Commission represents all parishioners not involved in any parish organization and its members are not drawn from any specific area of parish ministry.
- To recruit leaders from the general parish membership for various ministries.
- To conduct a "Time and Talent Sign-Up Sunday" annually or periodically.
- To evaluate and plan present and new parish programs and make appropriate recommendations to relevant commissions.
- Coordinate the temporal affairs of the parish: how money is spent and managed, how the physical plant is maintained and how parishioners are kept informed about what is happening in these areas.
The Commission coordinates the following subcommittees: Finance Committee and Maintenance Committee and strives to achieve the following goals:
- To assist the Finance Committee in consulting with the parish staff and other commissions regarding expenditures and the preparation of budgets.
- To review the maintenance of existing properties and to make recommendations regarding needed improvements.
- To promote ongoing, two-way communication between parish groups and parishioners relative to parish finance and maintenance.
- To oversee the management of all parish assets.
