St. Mary Cathedral

St. Mary Cathedral was constructed from 1911-1913. The roof was probably installed in late 1911 or early 1912. The roof we see today is the original roof. It has stood the test of time very well. Clearly our roof has "weathered the storms" these many years. About two and a half years ago, we began a Roofing Fund to raise the funds necessary to re-roof the church. The new roof will be more expensive than the cost for the entire construction of the church. But that is the way of inflation. We need the financial help of our parishioners and others to help us meet the expense of re-roofing this historical church in the City of Lansing. We invite others to make a contribution to this collection. No contribution is too small and every contribution helps us meet our goal. June 2008.  The primary roof of the Cathedral has now been replaced.  Contributions are still being accepted  to complete the project which includes the Sacristry, Sanctuary and side roofs.
